PRIME DUB by Frank Singer - 3/1984 ©2002
This chart is recorded on Cat's A Bear's "Tito In Wonderland".
The head form is AABA, with solos over AAB, where A is 8 measures and B is 7
measures.
On the recording, the arrangement is used. The head is extended, and various
instruments drop out for the last 2 bars of measure cycles which are different
prime numbers. The bass plays 2 parts - the bass line and the chaka, or 2 and 4
of the measure. The drop-outs occur at different times in the bass part. Click
here if you care about the details.
The melody is dissonant, and yes, the scan is a little bit crooked.
